Tour Itinerary - Day 8

Day 8 of your tour will find you at the Cu Chi Tunnels, an immense, 155-mile network of connecting underground tunnels located in the Củ Chi District of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Here you'll get an informational and hands-on tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, which are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. The tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters. Says one tour participant, "It really touched our hearts and minds being there."

Next we'll stop at Tay Ninh, a Mekong Delta town.  Tay Ninh is the official base of Cao Dai, a homegrown religion that uses seances to communicate with higher powers. Here we'll visit the Cao Dai Temple, also know as the Divine Temple in Tay Ninh. This is the largest church of the Caodista faith, whose symbol is an eye within a triangle: the eye that sees everything and the triangle of justice.

Lunch today is served in a treehouse, where you'll feast on delicious, fresh food, complete with jack fruit for dessert!

In the evening, back in Saigon, you we'll share a farewell dinner with a slideshow to celebrate a vacation well spent!
